Lookin’ up at you

... to didi

Now I raced back to our childhood; and it surely made me feel very good,

I saw on a cold winter morning, we stood for the school bus callously yawning.

My head was wrapped in a woolen scarf; so you kept aware that no one would laugh.

Whenever I would slyly let it down, you pulled it up and gave me a frown.

Exactly at 6:40 am, Gobindo Kaku’s bus silently pulled in,

With our heads bent very low, we crept into the dingy last row.

With every passing lazy minute, the bus kept collecting the QMS girls in it

While I quietly wondered if they knew my name, you were basking in your ‘popular’ fame

In the assembly compound within the cold grey walls, I would see you standing tall

Wishing that one day I would be like you, when I hardly ever looked up to few.

As the sports captain, when you chose me for your team

I had to prove myself, to be better than I seem

Through all the years in school, you were smart and cool

I was very proud of you, though you haven’t a clue.

Mili don't be silly

... aditi this is to our old times

We were running in our heels
Towards the Last yellow cab
As the night was closing in
And the bar would close our tab
When the music in the pub
Raised our spirits high
We took off our broken heels
To shake a booty with that guy
You were wearing mustard yellow
With a neck-line pretty deep
So you took all advantage
Towards that guy you wanted to keep
With a sudden burst of attention
I rose to the challenge
Sprayed my lovely COCO
And followed him to the bench ;)
I saw you pretending to flare up
At the show of my affection to him
I slowly sipped on my black rum
And watched you growing grim
While you stood at the bar alone
Catching up on your breath
A sailor man swooped in
To buy you a golden drink
As the night went on and on
I got bored of his flattering
From the corner of my lazy eye
I witnessed him give you a ring
Your man caught up with you and me later
And confessed our act freely
You said "Brinta you are a true friend'
I said 'Mili don't be Silly'

Johny Ani dilo Jello

... for Ani

In the garden of the park , while they stared at the dark
I kept thinking to myself, both of them really needed help

So my mind raced far and low, to see them in the love glow
Didi's Dexter then one day , spread the beans to ma in gay

I tried to patch them tight and strong, asked my mother what was wrong?
He played cricket and rode a bike, she said 'Go take a hike!'

Didi in love swayed her silky hair, ma said Gunja don't you dare
You are a silly girl in love , doe-eyed and soapy like a dove

Then one day when the sun was bright, funny Ani didnt take it light
He rode his bike like Johny Bravo, and stopped to buy ma Strawberry jello

When ma opened the door to him, Johny Ani looked very dim
Handed out the jello in a hurry , then ran down the stairs in a scurry

In a handful of months later, didi tied the bow in a bun
I looked on at my Funny Ani, for a long living family
